Global Hockey League : ウィキペディア英語版 | Global Hockey League The Global Hockey League was a proposed hockey league in 1990. It was to compete with the NHL much like the original WHA did, although this league was to contain conferences based in North America and Europe. In North America, there were planned franchises for Birmingham, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, Cleveland, Albany, Providence, Saskatoon and Hamilton. In Europe, potential franchise sites were Stockholm, Helsinki, Milan, Prague, Vienna, London, Paris, Bern, Zurich, Munich, and Düsseldorf. However, the new league couldn't find any financing and the GHL never set foot on the ice. == Sources ==
